LAW ROUNDUP: Adults, children sustain burns in boat explosion
Bigfork Fire Department, Swan Valley Fire Department, Ferndale Fire Department, Ferndale Search and Rescue, Lake County Sheriff’s Office and an ALERT helicopter responded to a boat explosion on Swan Lake. Two adults and four children sustain severe burns. No further information was available at press time.
An elderly woman pushing a dog in a shopping cart apparently gets around town according to reports from Kalispell Police Department.
The elderly woman was first spotted waving her arms in the air while screaming and yelling obscenities on North Main Street. The woman was later seen reportedly picking up the dog, slamming it down and hitting it with a newspaper. The woman was again seen by people on Sixth Avenue West North who said they offered her food and to help the dog — which they thought looked sickly. She refused.
A woman’s recent ex allegedly stole her service dog and hit her friend before leaving. The ex then came back to her house yelling obscenities and “starting things” with her brother while reportedly trying to take items.
A woman’s apartment was broken into on North Meridian Road and although she believed nothing was taken things were damaged and messed up.
Twelve dollars and mascara was reported stolen from a woman’s unlocked car on North Meridian Road.
Police responded to several calls about distressed dogs in vehicles for long periods of time.
Fireworks were heard booming all around a person’s Santa Fe Street residence.
Rogue fireworks may have started a fire in a pickup box on Garden Drive, destroying the contents. A few hotspots on the vehicle were extinguished.
