The Flathead National Forest is installing new culverts, drain dips, and performing surface milling this week along Taylor Creek Road, also known as Forest System Road 9790.

To provide for safety during the work, Taylor Creek Road will be intermittently closed, with opportunities to bypass work at two-hour intervals.

The delays will begin Tuesday, and will be in effect until the work is complete, which is estimated to be July 15.

The road junction is located at mile post 5.5 of Upper Whitefish Lake Road.

The work is funded to aid the Montana’s Forest in Focus projects, and will protect streams in the area from road sediments as required by Best Management Practices in Montana Forests.
