SOFTBALL: ASA Junior Olympic tourney breezes through first day

Despite iffy weather conditions for the weekend, the Montana girls ASA Junior Olympic fastpitch softball tournament is off to a smooth start.
Opening-day action on Friday went the distance with all 36 games completed under cloudy skies.
The Kalispell Regulators followed a first-round bye in the 12U division with a 7-1 victory over Great Falls Big Sky Blitz. The Regulators face Missoula Avalanche Ries in third-round action today at Kidsports Complex at 10 a.m.
In 14U, Polson MV Velocity slipped by Missoula Lady Osprey 15-11. Velocity will take on Great Falls Heat Palmer in the second round today at noon at the Conrad Complex.
