Clarissa 'Kissy' Waller, 85

Clarissa “Kissy” Waller quietly passed away on the evening of July1, 2016.

Born into a farming community June 26, 1931, in Clemons, Iowa, she was the daughter of Richard and Winnifred Easton. At the age of seventeen, she married Lawrence Oberholtzer, and together they had four children. She was widowed at a young age. Later she married Kenneth Waller and had one son.

Kissy loved music. She playing piano well and was a gifted soloist, singing regularly at many of the churches she attended over the years. She was a talented quilter and was known for teaching her skills to those wanting to learn. She was fascinated with family genealogy, traveling across the country and world to learn more about her roots.

She was a dedicated mother. After raising five children, she became a substance abuse counselor. She shared her love and patience with the youth of Montana at Wildness Treatment Center in Marion, Frances Mahon CDC Clinic in Glasgow, and Rocky Mountain Treatment Center in Great Falls. She often commented that her favorite clients were her teens.

Kissy leaves behind her daughter Johanna Christine Jett of Anchorage, Alaska, and her two sons Lawrence Roger Oberholtzer Jr. of Lake Stevens, Washington, and John Waller of Marion.

She had many friends and relatives with whom she shared her love and her life.

Private services will be held at Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
