LETTER: Clarification on ID of person in court report
I am writing because I just learned some very disturbing news.
There is another person living in Kalispell with my same last name, and almost identical first name.
The problem is, she got arrested and convicted for theft. That is where the issue became detrimental to me. It became my worst nightmare when her name was made public in the newspaper’s June 5 court report.
It is a service of the Daily Inter Lake to alert the community of such law breakers — a service I am thankful for, until it can ruin my reputation and possibly my life.
With that said, when you print my letter for all of Kalispell to read, I will rest assured people who know me, and those that may meet me in the future, will know my true character and not confuse me with someone with a like name.
I am a law-abiding citizen. I make my living caring for the elderly, children and house cleaning.
When this other woman’s name is in the police reports, my clients, acquaintances, friends, and potential clients may think I am she.
Thank you for printing my concern for my reputation and livelihood, by letting the public know the name Kathryn Putney, in her 40s, is not me.
I am Kathy J. Putney, age 63.
