LAW ROUNDUP: Road rage results in threat of violence

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a call from someone who reportedly stopped a driver of a silver Dodge pickup truck and asked the man to slow down through a construction site on Morning Star Drive in Kalispell and was told to “piss off,” by the driver who sped off. When the man drove through a second time and the caller attempted to speak to the driver again, the driver allegedly said, “I’ll just pop a cap in your a-- next time I see you.”

A woman on U.S. 35 in Bigfork told officers her boyfriend hit her on the head with his army boots.

An employee of a roadside assistance business took it seriously when he or she reported receiving four calls from children saying “I’m Mexican and my mom is in a ditch.” The calls were traced back to a land line and law enforcement spoke with a teen who said he was watching his brothers and one of them was the culprit in the phone prank.

A man, who turned out to have four warrants, was spotted sleeping in a camper up for sale on U.S. 35 in Bigfork.

Someone told officers he had seen blood and a knife in a driveway on Helena Flats Road in Kalispell.


Someone on West Idaho Street got an eyeful when a disorderly, intoxicated man refused to leave a business and reportedly exposed himself. The man was trespassed, his vehicle towed and he was dropped off at another location, according to Kalispell Police Department.

A garbage company allegedly “threw and crushed” someone’s bicycle on U.S. 93 South.

A woman on West Idaho Street and North Main Street told police that her husband was driving through the intersection when a $500 chainsaw fell out the back and when he turned around to get it another man nabbed it and drove away.

A woman on Second Street West said someone was banging on the resident’s door with a stick and was yelling and screaming. The resident said she wasn’t sure why the 6-foot-tall woman, who allegedly uses drugs and alcohol, was upset at her. It was gathered that all subjects were being evicted from the property because the suspect was living in a trailer outside the property.

A woman on Third Street West told officers she could hear humming going through the house and was concerned about a gas leak, but didn’t smell anything nor feel light-headed. It was deemed the woman may have had her hearing aids up too high.

A man was possibly intoxicated or having medical problems when he was spotted passed out in the parking lot of a U.S. 93 South business. The man allegedly kept turning his windshield wipers on and revving the engine and looked “super confused” when someone knocked on the window.

Someone’s house was burglarized on the West North side of town with items stolen and things thrown all over.

Officers responded to a call from a man on Second Avenue West North who said someone kicked in the door to his house, and a relative, who possibly uses methamphetamine, pulled a knife on him. The relative was with another man whom the caller didn’t know.

A woman who may have stolen fake fingernails was seen wandering in a parking lot on West Idaho Street and seemed to be high.

Someone on Fifth Avenue West said a man with a red beard allegedly threatened to kill him and made threats to vandalize his vehicle and slash his tires.


A manager of a U.S. 93 South business said an employee was allegedly selling drugs and wanted Whitefish Police Department to confront the employee.

A stranger allegedly tickled the ivories in a Columbia Avenue resident’s garage. The resident told police he or she woke up to someone playing a piano stored in the resident’s garage, and when the playing stopped the resident heard what sounded like two men talking. The mysterious virtuoso vanished before being spotted.

Someone on Columbia Avenue thinks there is a “big problem” with people speeding and texting and wanted a traffic trailer set up or extra patrol in the area.

A group of people had too much to drink on Railway Street when one woman rapped on someone’s window stating someone was trying to kill her boyfriend.
