A Kalispell woman is charged with felony criminal child endangerment after she allegedly drove drunk and caused a crash with an 8-year-old in her vehicle.

Officers responding to a two-car accident on July 4 determined Rhonda Lee Doan, 35, turned her vehicle in front of another vehicle, causing the accident, according to court documents.

Medical personnel notified law enforcement that Doan allegedly was under the influence of alcohol. Doan admitted to officers that she consumed two Ambien (a brand-name prescription sedative used to treat insomnia) and two glasses of wine.

Doan apparently smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech and exhibited signs of impairment after taking field sobriety tests.

Doan has two previous DUI convictions.

She was released on $30,000 bond with conditions that include alcohol monitoring. Arraignment is July 21 in Flathead District Court.

Doan faces a maximum 10-year sentence in Montana State Prison and a fine up to $50,000.
