LAW ROUNDUP: Youth allegedly assaulted in van drive-by
A van drive-by assault reportedly occurred on Glenwood Drive when a boy longboarding on the side of the road with friends reported that a dark-colored van containing a “mom, daughter and two kids in the back” was following them and allegedly pulled over. The youth told Kalispell Police Department that a “lady” sitting in the passenger seat punched his friend and then threw his longboard.
A man on First Avenue East said a possibly teenage girl was yelling out a vehicle window for him to call the cops and screaming “at the top of her lungs ‘help me.’” It was also noticed that a sliding door on the vehicle was open.
A man on Greatview was puzzled when he received a “strange” phone call from a woman he said he didn’t know who allegedly said she was reporting his number to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office for a “watch list.”
A man, possibly an employee, on North Main Street said a girl was reportedly riding around the mall trying to sell a bike to every one.
A woman was allegedly seen spanking a “little boy” about four times in line at a U.S. 93 North business and “made the kid come over and apologize for throwing a fit.”
A man on First Avenue East allegedly caught a boy breaking into cars and had the youth restrained on the ground. The boy then reportedly sat on the ground while the citizen stood next to him with a baseball bat.
Someone reported a green Toyota SUV that allegedly drove into oncoming traffic and through a ditch.
Someone’s cat was reportedly killed by dogs in a back alley on Seventh Avenue West.
Someone on Fifth Avenue East said motorcycles had been “going for about half an hour” and he or she heard banging noises and people yelling.
A woman said her husband who reportedly hadn’t been around for a month just showed up and shoved her through a door saying he was going to kill her.
A bearded man, a short man wearing a sleeveless leather jacket and jeans and a man wearing a gray striped sweater were spotted yelling outside a bar, according to a Whitefish Police Department report.
“Very pungent” transients were said to have been scaring someone’s customers, blocking the sidewalk and playing loud music on Central Avenue. Officers moved the odorous transients off the sidewalk.
Someone at City Hall said a “belligerent” and “out-of-control” woman was angry about the flags being flown at half-staff.
About a dozen “obnoxious” transients with a couple of dogs were reportedly passing around a bottle of whiskey and having a good old time to the dismay of business owners.
A woman’s boyfriend reportedly beat her up and then ran down the road without shoes on.
A woman on Martha Road told Columbia Police Department that she was trying to help a so-called friend through a “tough situation” and the friend repaid her by allegedly taking and pawning her engagement ring.
A teen girl and her 10-year-old friend were playing the “Pokemon Go” app when they happened on “Pipe-achu” — an alleged methamphetamine pipe with “stuff in it.”
An agitated man in a wheelchair reportedly went into a Ninth Street West business to use the phone, was upset because his car broke down, and acted aggressively toward employees.
High winds caused problems throughout the valley with a few calls about downed trees and power lines emergencies. The winds caused at least one boat to experience distress on Flathead Lake at around 2:15 p.m. on Friday. Undersheriff Dave Leib said that all involved parties arrived safely in Woods Bay and that the boat was on its trailer, being pulled from the lake by the time officials from the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office arrived.
