Two of three kids out of hospital
Both Priscilla and Olivia Wagoner of Columbia Falls were discharged from Harborview Medical Center on Tuesday, according to hospital spokeswoman Susan Gregg.
Their cousin Zeke Hilliard, however, was still being treated but was in satisfactory condition, she added.
Zeke’s grandmother, Wendy Hilliard, said Wednesday that he was being treated for compartment syndrome, a complication of the burns he suffered during the boating accident.
“It causes the leg to swell up and trap the heat in,” Hilliard said Thursday. “They had to split his leg open from his ankle to his knee to get the swelling out.”
Doctors have sewed the leg and bound it with compression dressings, and are currently waiting to see how his body heals from skin grafts on the burns.
