Police called over garbage dispute
A caller on Eighth Avenue East North called the Columbia Falls Police Department when he noticed the driver of a truck filled with garbage using the apartment complex’s garbage cans, even though the truck driver was not a resident. Officers made contact with the driver in question, and discovered he was actually removing garbage from the overflowing cans.
A Darlene Road resident called police to complain that there was a vehicle parked right in front of some mailboxes, blocking the boxes so residents couldn’t get to them. Officers spoke with the vehicle’s owners, who said the keys were lost but that the vehicle would be moved by Sunday.
A woman called when her vehicle went missing from a Nucleus Avenue parking lot. Turns out it was a business parking lot and the vehicle had been towed.
A woman turned in a wallet to police that she said had been accidentally left at her vendor booth earlier in the day.
The police took several calls about disorderly and intoxicated people in and around a Nucleus Avenue business.
A driver on East Second Street called the Whitefish Police Department after noticing a broken railroad sign partially extending into a lane of traffic.
Someone brought a found dog to the police station. The dog was described as a tan and black, mixed-breed fluffy pup.
Police received multiple calls about two different, very loud parties going on. One was reported on Lacy Lane and the other on Wisconsin Avenue. Both were weddings, and both required extra patrols.
A Kalispell Avenue resident called about a nearby house under construction. The resident was concerned because they saw a group of “Hispanic males” walk into the house and didn’t think they were allowed to be there. Officers made contact with the group, who were actually moving in to the residence.
The Bad Rock Fire Department responded to a power lines emergency on Sullivan Road.
