BASKETBALL: Bennett, Montana slip in all-star opener to Wyoming

SHERIDAN, Wyo. — Hailee Bennett scored four points as the Montana team fell behind Wyoming in a 71-64 loss in the Midland Roundtable Montana-Wyoming All-Star basketball series on Friday.

Bennett, who starred at Glacier High School for four years, and the Montana All-Stars took a nine-point halftime lead and looked to be in control on foreign soil before Wyoming rallied to beat the Treasure Staters by 16 points in the second half.

St. Labre’s Shiloh McCormick was comfortable in the nearby gym, leading Montana with 12 points.

Natrona County (Casper, Wyoming) center Emily Robertson led all scorers with 20 points for Wyoming and Gillette’s Jessie Geer had 18.

The series concludes today in Billings.

SHERIDAN, Wyo. — Havre’s Dane Warp scored 23 points as the Montana team routed Wyoming in the opening of the intrastate all-star series.

Choteau’s Dylan Pannabecker had 14 points and Box Elder’s Brandon The Boy had 13 in a balanced effort from Montana.

The series concludes today in Billings.
