An elementary education and dance major at the University of Montana, Crandell plans to become either a kindergarten teacher or a creative movement specialist who goes from classroom to classroom integrating movement into the standard curriculum.

She was chosen Distinguished Young Woman of Montana 2016. Her sister Abretia is her biggest influence and was in the Miss Montana pageant several years ago.

The public can vote for their favorites online at www.MissMontana.com. The Montana’s Choice winner advances to the semifinals.

Miss Montana competition concludes Saturday at 7 p.m. at Dawson County High School in Glendive. The winner will represent Montana at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City in September.

The Miss Montana Scholarship Pageant is held in conjunction with the Miss Montana’s Outstanding Teen competition. All Miss Montana contestants receive at least $850 for competing.
