BOZEMAN — Haydn Schlepp drilled a bases-clearing first inning double and Dawson Smith fired a four-hit complete game in the first half of a doubleheader sweep for the Kalispell Lakers AA over the Bozeman Bucks on Saturday afternoon in American Legion baseball action.

The Lakers (24-5, 3-1 Western AA) won the first game 11-1 and took the nightcap 6-1.

Smith, the 16-year-old ace of the staff, was brilliant in earning the win in game one, and veteran Leif Ericksen followed suit in the finale. Ericksen tossed the first five innings of the 6-1 win, with Andrew Schleusner coming on to close things out.

Up next for the Lakers is the Yakima Valley Tournament, which starts Thursday and runs through Sunday.
