BASEBALL: Glacier Twins trounce Cody; Mission Valley blanks Missoula
BELGRADE — The Glacier Twins found their rhythm in the fourth inning on Thursday at the Boys of Summer Legion baseball tournament, scoring 10 runs in the frame to crush Cody, Wyoming 17-1.
The Twins, leading 2-1 entering the inning, hit five straight singles to lead off the fourth. They had nine hits in the inning and saw 14 batters at the plate on the way to the blowout.
“We just kinda woke up,” Twins coach Bob Rupp said. “We did real well, they boys kept hitting the ball.”
That was more than enough as Greyson Bistodeau held the Cubs to five hits and a single run, scored in the first inning.
Ryan Veneman was 3 for 4 from the plate with a double, a triple and two RBIs for the Twins and Vinny Smith was 1 for 2 with four RBIs.
The Twins start play today at 10:30 a.m. against the Eagle (Idaho) Vipers.

DILLON — Mission Valley piled on the runs early while thoroughly dominating the Missoula Pioneers at the Maybelle Arthur Tournament.
The Mariners scored four runs in each of the first two innings and held the Pioneers to only four hits.
Jacob Harrod was 2 for 2 from the plate and picked up the win on the mound for Mission Valley and Bransen Krebs was 2 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs.
