Scammers threaten tipster's daughter

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a man on Church Road in Kalispell who said he had gotten phone calls from scammers claiming to be with the U.S. Treasury Department. The man reported the scam to the FBI, then the scammers allegedly called back and threatened to kidnap his daughter as payback.

A Lakeside business owner asked that a deputy respond after it was discovered that a significant amount of money might have been embezzled.

A person reported that someone had come under a gate at a location off U.S. 93 near Kalispell on more than one occasion and stolen three tires. The culprit allegedly was caught on video.

A deputy explained the proper way to kick a boyfriend out of a home on South Cedar Drive after a woman allegedly threw his belongings outside and got into an altercation with him.

A thief who stole a game camera on Handkerchief Drive allegedly was photographed by another game camera.

A deputy found that a man who claimed to have been sprayed by bullets on Ace Drive in Columbia Falls had not been involved in any sort of life-threatening incident. The man was rude to dispatchers. The deputy was able to escort him to the safety of the Flathead County Detention Center to deal with a warrant that was out for his arrest.

A man was transported to North Valley Hospital from Hungry Horse after he called and said he had been hit by a car near a tavern. The man had a hard time breathing and said he thought a rib was broken. The man said he thought his ex-wife might have had someone run him over.


Kalispell Police Department collected a ring from a nice person who found it on the ground outside Hutton Ranch Road and hoped it would be returned to its owner.

A woman with a history of theft allegedly was caught trying to steal a $260 baby monitor from a store off U.S. 93. She took off on foot when a security person tried to stop her.

A woman on Butter Cup Loop admitted she “tapped” two people in the stomach before they then allegedly punched her in the face.

A “white genocide” flier was found at a government office on Hutton Ranch Drive. Police increased patrol.


A woman on Martha Road reported to Columbia Falls Police that her son’s ex-girlfriend had texted threatening messages to him, saying someone was going to come after him. An officer was unable to make contact with the alleged victim.


A traveling nurse from Kentucky reported to Whitefish Police that another traveling nurse from North Carolina had left a daughter in her care four days earlier. She hadn’t heard from the woman since then and wanted to report her missing. The woman was worried that the nurse might have dumped her child and skipped town.
