Theodore J. Sokalowski, 90

| March 13, 2016 6:00 AM

Theodore J. Sokalowski, aka Ted Sok, aka Uncle Ted, 90, passed away March 6, 2016, at his home (the Sok Ranch) in Kalispell.

Born in Chicago on Oct. 25, 1925, Ted was a truck driver and served in the Army before marrying Lorraine Schmidt on June 10, 1950. They lived in Marion for several years before settling on a working ranch in Kalispell.

Ted worked as a mechanic and plow truck driver for the Montana Department of Transportation from April 1964 until his retirement in November 1988.

He enjoyed the outdoors and was a hunting guide for many years. Uncle Ted loved a hot cup of cowboy coffee (especially with a biscuit). He always had a story to tell. He liked to hang out in his workshop tinkering, fixing and welding. All of his rigs had mud flaps and running boards. He looked great in a cowboy hat.

Ted is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lorraine; nephew, Robert King, of Somers; and niece, Susan King, of Clearwater, Florida.

A celebration of life will be held in late April.

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for the family.
