LAW ROUNDUP: Man hit by car has no love for Montana, but goes easy on driver
Kalispell Police Department encountered an upset man who swore at dispatchers after being hit by a vehicle on Airport Road. The man allegedly said: “I hate you Montana,” followed up by a vulgarity that put an exclamation point on his feelings. Nonetheless, an officer determined that the man did not want to pursue charges against the driver who hit him.
An officer responded to Vista Loop, where a woman was worried because her former out-of-state boyfriend kept calling her and harassing her. He allegedly sent a text that said “I’m going to send someone to take care of you.” The woman was afraid because some of the man’s friends were allegedly snipers.
An officer determined that parents needed to handle a teen’s dating behavior after a woman called 911 and stated that she was “having teenage problems.”
A woman did not want to pursue charges after her boyfriend allegedly threw her on the ground in front of a retail store and hit her with a baseball bat.
A person on Helena Flats Road reported to Flathead Sheriff’s Office that there had been a drive-by theft of his or her generator.
Montana Highway Patrol responded to a parking lot off Montana 206, where a driver allegedly rammed another vehicle twice before driving off. The caller to 911 suspected the driver might have been drunk.
A woman on Ridgewood Drive held a garage sale and found that instead of clearing out her old stuff, the woman gained additional baggage to deal with as one of the sale attendees kept coming back and causing problems.
Someone called a man claiming to be “Mike” from the Whitefish Police Department demanding payment for something. The call was a scam. The thief did not get away with any money.
An underage girl was taken to detention after she allegedly punched holes in a bedroom door, ripped the door off its hinges and tore molding from a wall.
A man on Circle Drive in Columbia Falls called to report that the mother of his child had entered his home and taken his young daughter. The man said the mother was a drug user who had not been around for the past two months. There was no parenting plan in place saying that the mother could not have custody.
A deputy was unable to locate teenagers that were allegedly shooting at geese off East Reserve Drive. A passerby was worried the teens might not be practicing proper firearm safety.
A person reported that people had been cutting firewood on state land near Marion, but had left the scene.
A man was told by Columbia Falls Police that he wasn’t allowed back at a fast-food restaurant and was cited for disorderly conduct. He allegedly had threatened employees who were somehow tied to a woman who had taken out a no-contact order against him.
Montana Highway Patrol worked a crash at the intersection of Whitefish Stage and Reserve Drive where one vehicle rear-ended another at a stop light. Trooper James Hawkins said that there were minor injuries and one person was transported to the hospital as a precaution. There was one occupant in each vehicle.
Whitefish Police responded to Ashar Avenue, after someone reported that a drone was flying near a school.
An officer found that a man wasn’t in the doghouse with his girlfriend after a neighbor reported that the man sometimes slept in the vehicle outside the girlfriend’s home, supposedly after the pair got into arguments. The man told the officer he was waiting for a ride to Missoula.
A man called to thank an officer for giving his son a stern talk about throwing sticks at vehicles. The man said the message came across very well.
