Election Department moves to fairgrounds
The Flathead County Election Department has moved to the Flathead County Fairgrounds Country Kitchen building as the 2016 primary election cycle gets underway with voter registration and absentee voting.
The election office will remain at the Country Kitchen, located behind the grandstand, through June 30.
County residents are able to register in person at the Country Kitchen.
Absentee voting begins May 9 and continues until noon on June 6, the day before the primary election on June 7. Late registrants who submit registration cards after noon must return to the Election Office on June 7 to receive an absentee ballot.
Absentee voting will be conducted solely at the Country Kitchen, according to Election Manager Monica Eisenzimer. The mailing address and phone numbers will stay the same: 800 S. Main St., Room 115, Kalispell, MT 59901 and 758-5535.
Those wishing to register to vote in person will be required to go to the Country Kitchen. Hours will remain the same, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Those wishing to vote by absentee ballot may request that a ballot be mailed to them by submitting an application for absentee ballot bearing the signature and birth date of the individual for whom the ballot is being requested.
The form may be obtained from the Election Department’s website: http://flathead.mt.gov/election. Absentee ballot applications must be submitted to the Election Department either in person, by mail or by fax. The fax number is 758-5877
Voters can confirm their registration, proper precinct and the location of polling place for that precinct by going online to http://flathead.mt.gov/election or call 758-5536.
