Man airlifted after snowboard accident

Two Bear Air Rescue airlifted an injured snowboarder from Hellroaring Basin at Whitefish Mountain Resort Thursday morning.

According to resort spokeswoman Riley Polumbus, the injured man was reported at around 10:30 a.m. Polumbus said the man had run into a tree.

Two Bear landed near the victim and he was flown from the scene of the accident at 11:30 to the Fir parking lot, where a ground ambulance transported him to the hospital four minutes later.

“It went like clockwork and we hope the man is OK,” Two Bear Air Rescue Executive Director Jordan White said. White, Sheriff Chuck Curry and pilot Jim Pierce participated in the airlift.

The extent of the victim’s injuries was unknown.
