Tool thefts reported in Whitefish

Two different Somers Avenue residents called the Whitefish Police Department to report overnight burglaries. In both cases, tools had been taken from garages.

A Hueth Lane resident called about a suspicious person running outside his house. The runner allegedly jumped into a waiting vehicle, which was driven by a second person. Officers were unable to locate the pair, or find anything in the neighborhood amiss.

A business on U.S. 93 South called Whitefish Police to report a female shoplifter who had gotten away with a cart full of items. The suspect was later arrested after a traffic stop made by Columbia Falls Police.


A Seventh Street West resident called Columbia Falls Police when his 14-year-old daughter failed to check in. She had allegedly gone camping with friends, but the man had been unable to contact her or the friends by phone.

A Seventh Avenue East North resident asked officers to intervene in a fight between a man and woman. The couple was allegedly screaming at each other and the woman was threatening to hurt herself. Officers checked in with the couple in question and found everything was fine.

Police took a report of a road rage incident that allegedly occurred on U.S. 2 East near Columbia Heights. The caller was another driver, who said two trucks were involved. One truck nearly “took the back end off” of the caller’s truck before pushing the second truck off the side of the road. Officers were unable to locate either vehicle.

Officers spoke with a man and a group of kids who were getting in some spring fishing. The group was also trespassing on private property and was asked to move along.

A Seventh Avenue East North resident called police alleging that his mother’s boyfriend was getting violent during an argument. Officers responded and an arrest was made.

A Red Bridge Road resident called to report a suspicious truck that had been slowly driving around the area for nearly 30 minutes. Officers provided some extra patrols in the area.


The Evergreen Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on U.S. 2 East.


The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on Armory Road.
