| March 29, 2016 5:58 PM

Lawrence “Larry” William Weed, 88, passed away in Florence, Oregon, on Jan. 27, 2016 of natural causes.

Larry was born to Ernest Monroe Weed and Rachel Evangeline Weed on Jan. 27, 1928 in Bigfork.

Larry was a talented mechanic and worked for Henrickson Motors of Kalispell before owning, operating, and retiring from his own shop for many years.

He was married to Shirley Brown-Weed for 64 years before she passed away. Together they enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, berry picking, fishing, crabbing, playing cards and gardening.

For many years, Shirley and Larry spent numerous retirement years in their RV traveling between the southern United States and Mexico, the Oregon coast, and the mountains and lakes of Montana before finally settling in the coastal community of Florence. In the last few years, Larry loved spending time with friends in the retirement park, visiting with friends and family traveling along the coast, and sending and receiving email and jokes on the computer.

Larry was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Shirley, in 2012; his sister, Norma Jean Weed-Johnson, in 2013; and a niece, Victoria Hawk, in 1999.

Larry is survived by two nieces and two nephews, Mary’l Luntsford, Eliza Anne Sorte-Thomas, Doyle Russell and Gary Russell. He is also survived by eight great-nieces, Kimberly Luntsford, Krystal Luntsford-Fishel, Desiree Russell, Shiree Russell, Mary Wall, Christina Jorgenson, Lloyd Rose and Eddie Rose. Ten great-great-nieces and -nephews also survive Larry.

No services were planned for Larry, per his request, and his ashes were spread, along with Shirley’s, in the ocean.
