LETTER: What to expect if you invite refugees into area

| March 29, 2016 10:11 AM

I can no longer sit idly by while someone with no ties to reality tells us what bad Americans and fearmongers we are. My wife and I are from California, where we are both retired from state service, in a capacity directly involved with refugees, either by way of employment or by way of law enforcement. I propose that the following are FACTS, not speculation or opinion.

FACT: Everyone in Montana better get a locking mailbox. One of the No. 1 problems in California is identity theft. Your mail will soon start to disappear in vast quantities with no one to catch the bad guys. This is a way of life in their countries of origin because no one is prosecuted, and here they are rarely prosecuted also because they are refugees. If you were to do these things, you would be arrested immediately and put in jail because you are a citizen. California has some of the largest identity theft rings in the U.S. — most run by refugees.

FACT: You think you have trouble now with people stealing things from your cars, just wait. This problem will escalate 10-fold and now not only will you have to replace your stolen items you will also be paying for new door locks and windows. Once again this is common practice in their countries, so it all is fair game. But wait! You will actually be lucky if you car is still there. California is home to some of the biggest chop shops in the U.S., once again run by refugees.

FACT: Those of you who leave town for any extended period of time should always have a house sitter. Home burglary is very common in California, most of which is committed by refugees. (Check the Sacramento County Jail roster) Most of these criminals will be released because they are refugees.

FACT: UPS and other carriers better invest in security because your packages will be skillfully plucked from customers’ porches by refugees following around the delivery trucks. This is a major problem in California with no end in sight. I wouldn’t expect it to be less of one here. It’s much easier pickings here. Lots of trusting people.

Here are a few of the wonderful refugee groups operating in California. Mexican Mafia groups 13, 14 and 18, with one of the groups boasting over 6,000 bad guys. Others groups include the Russian Mafia, the Armenian Mafia, the Vietnamese Mafia, the Asian Mafia and the Ukrainian Mafia. This doesn’t even cover the tip of the iceberg as far as refugee mafia gangs.

These are some of the daily experiences suffered by Californians directly related to refugees. If this is what you want your state or town to be like, then go ahead and listen to these half-wits who think we should take refugees. If they want them so bad, they should have to register with our government as sponsors so they can be held responsible for the assimilation of their refugees. —Robert D. Barron, Kalispell
