Local students excel in health science event
Bigfork, Flathead, Polson and Whitefish high schools brought home state winners following the 12th annual HOSA Future Health Professionals State Leadership Conference in March.
More than 300 high school students tested their skills in 30 health science events, which ranged from biomedical debate to sports medicine. Students also attended a variety of seminars and speakers during the conference.
Students who placed at state qualify to compete at the International HOSA Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, in June.
HOSA is a career and technical student organization that prepares students for college and careers in the health sciences along with leadership and service work opportunities.
