LETTER: Let voter beware

| May 12, 2016 10:00 AM

Some of the longest held truths such as, by their fruits you will know them, are powerful. You and I can agree that looking at a person’s closest friends and confidants we can find a realistic picture of what a person is all about.

Take the Senate District 3 Republican primary; on the one hand we have Don “K” Kaltschmidt, the car salesman and businessman, who appears to have some conflicts. Don’s campaign manager is Scott Reichner of Bigfork. Reichner is also listed as a campaign co-chair for a front organization that has received, according to an article in the Great Falls Tribune, over a million dollars from the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes for the purpose of promoting the biggest fraud ever, the water compact. In my opinion, this compact undeniably takes your protected water rights from the jurisdiction that is best able to protect Montanans and hands your water right to the control of the tribes and the federal government.

Keith Regier, businessman and former teacher, is Don K’s opponent. Keith Regier has faithfully served Montanans for eight years in the House of Representatives. Keith’s voting record proves he has upheld his oath of office to protect and secure the rights of those he represents. But most importantly the people closest to him in life tend to be of the same quality as him — faithful.

Let the voter beware!
