Softball: Polson pounds Dillon, Stevi in tourney

BUTTE — Hannah Potter had three RBIs and Ashley Benson, Hannah Fryberger, Lydia Dupuis and Quinn Motichka had two RBIs each to power Polson’s offense in a 17-1 victory over Dillon on Friday at the LaVerne Combo softball tournament.

Benson and Potter doubled once and Fryberger had two. Polson had 15 hits in that contest.

In the second game, Polson whipped Stevensville 12-2.

Kaelyn Smith, Laurel Bitterman and Motichka all were 2 for 3 at the plate. Motichka had four RBIs. Camas Renault doubled for Polson.

Polson plays Miles City today at 9 a.m. in the tournament and Lewistown at 12:30 p.m.

Ronan sweeps Eureka

EUREKA — Ronan romped to a Western B doubleheader victory over Eureka, 26-3 and 19-0.

Ronan had 38 hits on the day to Eureka’s eight.

Rylee Morgan and Courtney Lemer both were 2 for 3 for Eureka in the first game.

Morgan had the lone hit in the second game for the Lions, a double.
