LETTER: FHS student shares gratitude

| May 22, 2016 9:30 AM

I am a sophomore at Flathead High School, and as part of Flathead’s “Give Back Day,” I wish to express gratitude for all of the excellent education we receive.

All of my life, I have been surrounded by teachers who truly care and try to make a difference in the lives of every student. These teachers and mentors have provided me with the ability and inspiration to express my true appreciation at what they have done. They put in countless hours of their own time to bestow upon us the best education possible.

My thanks also goes out to the always supportive community of Kalispell. Without their constant backing, true education would be impossible. Whether it be sporting events, school plays, or any of the innumerable activities at Flathead, our community is always behind us.

This support is further shown in the local taxpayer dollars that go into our education. This money has provided me with materials and tools in my woodshop class, and with access to excellent facilities. This funding and support is invaluable to the learning that occurs in students every day in our schools.

This knowledge enables every student to pursue the future of their choice, and for this I am grateful. Thank you.
