LEGION BASEBALL: Kalispell Lakers AA overwhelm Loggers

LIBBY — Haydn Schlepp and Dawson Smith each drove in five runs and the Kalispell Lakers AA scored nine times in the fourth inning to smash the Libby Loggers 22-5 on Wednesday night.

Libby scored three times in the bottom of the first inning to take a short-lived 3-2 lead, but four Loggers pitchers could not hold down the Lakers’ offense. Kalispell collected 27 hits and led 17-4 after four innings.

Micah Benson and Jonas Nyman had four hits each to lead the Lakers’ attack. Nyman doubled twice, Schlepp was 3 for 4 with a double from the leadoff spot and Smith finished 3 for 5 with a two-bagger of his own.

Erik Lauer homered and drove in three runs for Libby.
