Authorities have identified the man killed in a collision between a loaded wood-chip truck and a pickup on U.S. 93 Thursday morning.

Charles Long, 42, of Woods Bay was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash is under investigation by the Montana Highway Patrol.

According to Trooper David Mills, the southbound Chevrolet pickup driven by Long failed to negotiate a curve and crossed the center line, striking the northbound wood-chip truck partially head-on.

The 30-year-old driver of the wood-chip truck from Trout Creek was uninjured.
