LETTER: Regier respected

| May 29, 2016 8:30 AM

I have great respect for the people from our communities who offer their time and services in state government to keep Montana great. I have seen the amount of time it takes to study bills, talk to other legislators and people in their districts, attend meetings, and in general, invest themselves 100 percent. It is a big commitment.

Keith Regier is a retired Evergreen schoolteacher who has devoted the many hours it takes to be effective in Helena. To be chosen House majority leader is a testimony to his commitment in time and energy.

Mr. Regier’s opponent appears to be qualified to represent Senate District 3 in Helena. As a first-term member of the Senate, his effectiveness will be much less than Mr. Regier’s, who has served four terms in House. Don “K” has a very large and well-run business in Whitefish that is very important to him and the community and the many employees of his business. When the demands on Don’s time become more than the time he has, then he must prioritize his schedule. Will the Montana Senate be the most important?
