Tiny Talks worth the time

If you’ve got some time to spare on Saturday, consider attending the Flathead Tiny Talks. These eight-minute microbursts of information from eight local presenters aim to inspire people and open up alternative ways of thinking. Using the theme “People Connecting with Place,” presenters will share their stories, and afterwards the discussion continues with those in the audience.

The event starts at 7 p.m. Saturday at Grouse Mountain Lodge in Whitefish. Tickets are $20 at the door, and proceeds benefit the Montana Outdoor Legacy Foundation. Get more information at www.TinyTalks.org.

Sign project is big boost

If newcomers feel like it’s a little easier to find their way around Kalispell these days, they can thank the Kalispell Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The bureau’s wayfinding sign project has resulted in handsome and easily read signage that directs visitors and locals alike to our top attractions. Museums, parks and event centers will definitely benefit, and so will the community as a whole.

The groups that helped fund the project were many, including the Flathead Rotary Community Foundation, Kalispell Business Improvement District, three downtown museums and the city of Kalispell. Thanks for your foresightedness and generosity.
