LETTER: Questions about Bullock

| November 6, 2016 11:00 AM

Corruption, secrecy, and unaccountable. All three words describe the Bullock administration quite well. The administration gave contracts to companies with family ties to the administration. This happened with the tourism advertising contract which went to a Wisconsin company. The rules were changed during the allocation process and the Wisconsin company came out on top while having no experience in the marketing.

It also was recently exposed that the Bullock administration paid over $900,000 in settlements to state employees. Now, they won’t say why these payments were made. Is it to cover up misdeeds? These payments legally should be public record as well as who received them. The administration has said they are confidential. The payments to individuals ranged from $120,000 to $122,000. This is taxpayer dollars and we deserve to know what this is all about.

If we elect Greg Gianforte as governor, we will see a change in attitude in Helena. It will be a “get things done” type of attitude. Greg will make Helena transparent and accountable to the voters of Montana. To accomplish this Greg announced he will use his power to create the Office of Government Accountability to keep state government in check. We need transparency and accountability and Greg Gianforte will bring that to Helena. —Mike and Lori Craner, Columbia Falls
