In honor of Veterans Day this Friday, Glacier National Park will be waiving entrance fees for all visitors.

The free admission day applies to all 413 of the National Park Service’s parks, monuments and other sites throughout the country.

The Going-to-the-Sun Road’s alpine section has closed for the season, but vehicles can still access the west side of the popular route as far as Avalanche. On the east side, vehicles may not venture beyond the closure at the junction with Hudson Bay Road, near the St. Mary entrance.

Hikers and bicyclists are allowed beyond both vehicle closures, but may be limited by ongoing construction work during weekdays.

For more information, contact park headquarters at 406-888-7800.
