Hello Bigfork. Thanks-giving is just around the corner, and for many it is a time to give thanks for the many blessings in our life. Myself, I am grateful for many things and one of those things is that I am now a 16-year survivor of a cancer and that after treatment by the Kalispell medical community I am still alive.

I am sure that you, just like me, are grateful too, for our mothers, daughters, grandmothers, aunts and the friends who are in our lives and want to see them live long, productive lives free of breast cancer.

We have an opportunity to show our gratitude to the ones we love in Bigfork, for one day only, Nov. 17, when the Mobile Mammogram Truck and Save A Sister join forces to give Bigfork the opportunity at the Bigfork Harvest Foods parking lot to get that mammogram.

If you don’t have health insurance, or don’t have the cash, or have a very high deductible on your health insurance coverage, Save A Sister can help you to get that screening for breast cancer. Cancer screenings DO save lives! It is always said that if you do have cancer, catching it early is the key. So “get your pink on,” go pick up that loved one and come on down to Harvest Foods and get that mammogram so that you can rest assure that you, your mom or your grandma are cancer free! —Susan Taylor, Bigfork
