Thanksgiving community dinners planned in Flathead

Restaurants in Bigfork and Kalispell invite the public to free community dinners on Thanksgiving Day.

• Sykes’ Diner in Kalispell invites members of the community to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving Day dinner with friends and neighbors.

The restaurant has hosted the free dinner for more than 40 years. No reservations are needed and donations are always welcome.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and guests may dine in or carry out.

The buffet will feature ham and turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls and pumpkin pie.

For those who cannot get out, delivery is available. Call the diner at 257-4304 by 5 p.m. Tuesday to arrange.

Sykes’ is located at 202 Second Ave. W.

• Pocketstone Cafe in Bigfork will host its seventh annual community Thanksgiving dinner.

The dinner is free and all who cannot or would prefer not to celebrate Thanksgiving on their own are welcome.

The Pocketstone Cafe offers a traditional Thanksgiving menu featuring soup, turkey, dressing, potatoes, yams, vegetable and dessert, served in a cordial atmosphere.

Reservations are requested for those who would like to attend by calling 837-7223, since seating is limited.

Three seatings will be available: 11 a.m., and 12:15 and 1:30 p.m. If space is available, walk-ins will be accommodated.

Volunteers assist with food preparation, serving and cleanup and the food is donated by the cafe and its suppliers. A donation jar will be available for those who would like to contribute. All donations will be given to the Bigfork Food Pantry.

The Pocketstone Cafe is located at 444 Electric Ave. in Bigfork.

• Summit Life Church will be serving a Thanksgiving meal at 1 p.m. at the Whitefish Community Center.

Reservations are needed by noon, Monday, Nov. 21. To reserve a place, call 406-314-9251. Summit Life Church has Sunday services at 9:29 a.m. in the Mountain Cinema 4 Theater in Whitefish.
