Thanksgiving Day snowstorm targets Lincoln County
Forecasters with the National Weather Service are warning that a winter storm is likely to bring up to half a foot of snow to parts of Lincoln County on Thanksgiving.
The storm is expected to begin Thursday, with heavier accumulation by the afternoon.
On Tuesday, the agency announced a high likelihood that up to 6 inches of snow would fall in Troy and Bull Lake, up to 3 inches would fall in Libby and 5 to 7 inches would blanket portions of the Yaak.
The system is not expected to bring significant snowfall to the Flathead Valley, although Olney and the Badrock Canyon area could receive 1 to 2 inches.
Travelers on the busy holiday should expect slick roads and snow that could continue into Thursday night.
