A 33-year-old Evergreen man was taken by ambulance to Kalispell Regional Medical Center Monday evening with non-life-threatening injuries after he was shot in the hip at his residence on Sleepy Hollow Drive, according to Flathead Sheriff Chuck Curry.

Curry said Tuesday morning he does not believe there is a dangerous suspect at large in the area, but added the investigation is still ongoing. No arrests had been made or charges filed as of Tuesday.

He added the victim is still in the hospital and his office plans to interview him later in the day.

In a press release, Curry stated that the shooting occurred at about 7:15 p.m.

“Other people were in the home at the time of the shooting, and at this point it is unclear exactly what occurred,” the release stated.
