Robert H. Hills, 86

Robert “Harold” Hills, of Kalispell, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016, with his wife, Jeanie, at his side. He was 86.

Harold was born in Kalispell on May 22, 1930. He grew up at Ashley Lake, working with his father logging and sawing lumber. He married his sweetheart, Betty Jean “Jeanie” Michels in Kalispell on Jan. 6, 1951. For 56 years he worked in the timber industry in the Kalispell and Libby area.

He is survived by loving children, Steve (JoAnne) Hills of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Kathy (Dane) Hamilton of Big Delta, Alaska, and Corey (Dorothea Schaeffer) Hills of Kalispell; and seven loving grandchildren and 14 great-grand-children. Harold is also survived by his brother Gary (Laura) Hills of Lone Pine, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Harold was predeceased by his parents Lewis Sr. and Iva Hills, infant brother Johnny, brother Lewis Jr. “Louie,” and sister Nina Jones.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
