The Bigfork area recently was featured in a New York Times travel article written by Freda Moon, whose grandmother Frances Evans was raised near Flathead Lake. Moon, her husband Tim and their 13-month-old daughter stayed at the Islander Inn in Woods Bay and an Airbnb apartment in Big Arm, among other places, during their time in the Flathead.

The article is currently online at http://www.nytimes.com/section/travel and appeared in today’s print edition of the New York Times. The travelogue chronicles their time and experiences in the Flathead Valley.

“The Flathead might not have been the place I had imagined, but it was worth every hour in the car and every dollar of our modest budget,” Moon wrote.
