Water to be shut off temporarily on Tuesday

| October 2, 2016 6:00 AM

Water will be temporarily turned off for some residents and businesses Tuesday.

Residents and services affected include Buffalo Hill Townhomes and Kalispell Regional Healthcare (central plant and Brendan House).

Crews will be installing isolation valves in a water main inside Glacier View Drive between 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

People in the area are asked to take precautions to protect equipment that may be affected when water service is stopped. This includes disabling electric power to pumps and other devices whose normal operation may be dependent on water pressure or water supply that could be harmed if automatically energized during water shut-off.

When the water is turned back on, mains will be flushed, during which time people may notice turbid water and trapped air in plumbing.
