Whitefish schools warn of scam
Whitefish School District is warning local businesses about a fundraising scam.
According to the district, a company called Touchdown Sports in Texas has contacted local businesses seeking sponsorship to support Whitefish High School. The company is portraying to have a connection with school activities and has used Whitefish coaches’ names within their communication.
The school district says there is no connection between Whitefish High School and Touchdown Sports and that the district has not has not authorized a fundraiser with Touchdown Sports.
“Whitefish High School conducts only legitimate local fundraisers using local contacts for any proposed sponsorship,” the district stated in a press release.
Residents are advised to be cautious of non-local businesses seeking sponsorship or fundraising support.
Any business that has been contacted by Touchdown Sports or any other out-of-state company seeking sponsorship support for Whitefish High School is asked to contact WHS Activities Director Aric Harris or Principal Kerry Drown at 406-862-8600.
