WHITEFISH — Columbia Falls had the top individuals at the Whitefish Invitational cross country meet on Thursday at Whitefish Lake Golf Club.

Sage Wanner had a personal best time of 15 minutes, 44 seconds.

The senior led his race from start to finish.

Quin Stewart of Polson was second, 16:38, and Ethan Potthoff of Whitefish placed third, 16:44.

Kimberly Peacock won the girls race in 18:19. Polson’s Beatrix Frissell was second, 18:34, and Tyann Totten of Eureka third, 19:10.

Peacock, a freshman, tied the school record with her time, which she now shares with Samantha Mudel (2014).

On the team front, the Columbia Falls boys and Whitefish girls won titles.

Up next for some of the schools competing here is the Western A Classic on Oct. 15 at Fairmont Hot Springs.

The state meet for all schools follows Oct. 22 at Rebecca Farm in Kalispell.
