Kalispell leaf cleanup begins

Kalispell city crews are scheduled to begin fall leaf removal Monday, Oct. 10.

Residents and business owners are encouraged to rake the leaves from the boulevard onto the street approximately two feet away from the curb. Vehicles must be removed from curbsides during leaf pickup operations.

Leaf removal on avenues occurs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; streets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Once completed on removal days, crews will move to the next area.

Pick-up times for outlying residential areas vary and are designated by the areas with the highest volume of leaves.

This schedule is contingent on weather conditions, workload and equipment availability. City street personnel will make every effort to remove leaves as quickly as possible.

Leaves will not be picked up outside of the leaf removal season, dependent on snowfall. Contact Public Works for proper leaf disposal after the leaf removal season.

Bagged leaves should be placed in the alley behind your residence and will be removed with alley clean up.

Do not put rocks, dirt, cans, bottles, branches and items of this nature in the leaf piles because they may cause bodily injury and damage to machinery.

For further information contact the City of Kalispell Public Works Department at 758-7720.
