SOCCER ROUNDUP: Sentinel sweeps Glacier
MISSOULA — Missoula Sentinel scored four goals in the first 26 minutes of play to run away with a 5-0 rout of Glacier in a Western AA soccer match on Tuesday.
Austin Leadbetter scored unassisted in the fourth minute to get the Spartans started early, then assisted on goals from Dylan Farnes and Hunter Van Cleave, who each scored twice in the contest.
Sentinel outshot Glacier 8-6 and corner kicks were even at four each, even as Glacier played down a man after receiving a red card.

Stillwater 3, Sandpoint JV 0
Both starting seniors scored on Senior night at Stillwater Christian as the Cougars blanked the Sandpoint JV 3-0 in a nonconference match on Tuesday afternoon.
Seth Reeves opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, leading to goals from seniors Darren Kauffman and Isaac Neumann to close out the match.
Sandpoint outshot the Cougars 6-5 in the contest, as Stillwater keeper Zach Basnett kept a clean sheet.
Stillwater will wait to see who it plays in the MCAA state tournament after an 8-8-1 record in the regular season.

MISSOULA — Missoula Sentinel scored three first half goals in a Western AA conference rout of Glacier.
Spartans senior Syd Steele opened the scoring in the 13th minute and Sentinel kept the pressure on throughout the half with Piper Woodard picking up a pair of goals in the last three minutes of the half.
Steele scored first in the second half on an assist from Woodard in the 44th minute and completed her at trick in the 63rd minute.
Glacier was outshot in the contest 14-5 and keeper Maddie Armstrong made six saves.

Stillwater senior Alicia Warricks launched a corner kick to teammate Julie Patrick who found Abby Boll in the waning minutes for the game-tying goal in a draw with the Sandpoint JV on senior night.
The three seniors evened the score after Sandpoint’s Morgan Wolhaib scored a header in the 28th minute.
“Our seniors provided great leadership and had a great game to finish their high school soccer careers,” Cougars coach JR Hemp said in an email. “We had lost earlier in the year 6-0 to Sandpoint, so were very excited to come out with a draw tonight.”
Stillwater outshot Sandpoint 17-13 in the contest and had nine corner kicks.
“We struggled in the first half to control the midfield which gave us limited chances on goal,” Hemp said. “We were having problems possessing the ball, but our defense kept us in the game. (In the) second half the young ladies came out with a renewed determination. We played at a better tempo and moved the ball much better.”
