LAW ROUNDUP: Alaskan driver makes bad first impression
Kalispell Police were unable to locate a man driving a vehicle with Alaska plates who made a bad impression on other drivers. The man was allegedly screaming at cars, driving 10 miles per hour, and honking his horn at other drivers — maybe because he thought they were going too fast? The person who called police warned that he had a holstered gun if the driver took his antics too far. The caller also reported that the man looked like he had “just crawled out of the woods.”
A man was taken to jail after he reportedly entered a bar and hit another man with a beer bottle. The victim was treated for a laceration on the head.
Whitefish Police took a man to jail after a woman reported that he had hit her and thrown furniture around a house.
Columbia Falls Police determined that all was fine on Second Avenue West after someone called concerned that there appeared to be someone in a van taking pictures of houses.

Law enforcement did not think a missing person alert needed to be issued after a man’s grandmother called to report that he had allegedly gotten out of a pre-release, headed to the Swan Valley, and had not been heard from since. The man’s probation officer said that this seemed to be a pattern and that the man had previously disappeared for long periods of times when he associated with the wrong crowd and ingested heroin. The grandmother said she would keep searching for the man.
A deputy determined that calls about shots fired on East Evergreen Drive were actually in reference to the sound of firecrackers going off.
A deputy gave a ride to a man traveling from Kalispell to Somers after someone complained that he was trying to hitchhike at night, and was difficult to see. The caller was concerned a motorist might hit the man because he was hard to see.
