Paul Engle, 64
Paul Engle, 64, passed away on Oct. 5, 2016 in Kalispell.
Paul was born in Minneapolis to Betty and Floyd Engle on April 15, 1952. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1970 with a full ride scholarship to the University of Minnesota. He turned it down for a ski adventure with friends in Montana and fell in love with the area and decided to make it home.
Paul served in the Army from 1974 to 1976 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he learned to sky dive. Later, he attended college at Flathead Valley Community College where he met his beautiful wife and graduated with an associate’s degree in business. He worked as a lab tech at Plum Creek for 28 years.
Paul married Vickie Netherly on June 26, 1982, in the Flathead Valley. They were married for 34 years and together had three beautiful children.
His hobbies included “flying with the eagles” as a pilot, scuba diving, fishing, skiing, golfing and being with his grandkids. He rode with the Christian Motorcycle Association.
“He went peacefully into our Lord and Savior’s arms.” He will forever be loved and missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Betty and Floyd Engle, and brother David.
He is survived by his wife Vickie Engle, his son David and fiance Chelsea, son Jon, daughter Betsy and son-in-law Austin Elm, brothers Jim and Tom, sister Bonnie, grandchildren Paxton, Marlee, Cooper, Oliver, Knox, Thatcher, Edison and extended family.
The memorial will be an open house held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Engle’s residence.
