LAW ROUNDUP: Road rage incident reported
Flathead County Sheriff’s Office took a call from a man and a woman who both admitted to some level of road rage in an incident on Lake Blaine Road. The man reported that he had gotten out of the truck after the woman pulled out in front of him and yelled at her. The woman admitted to “brake checking” the man’s truck, but also claimed the man had cursed at her and pounded on her driver’s side window. Neither party wanted to pursue charges.
A woman called from the Columbia Falls area to report that someone had cut off her access to food for the past week and as a result she had lost 20 pounds.
A person called to report that his or her daughter, now 16, had been engaged in an inappropriate relationship with an older man since the girl was 12. A deputy was sent to investigate.
A woman on Aero Lane filed a report after she allegedly was charged by two dogs twice in one day while she was running. The woman pulled out a pistol and made it home safely. An animal control officer planned to issue a citation.
A woman who had agreed to watch over a relative’s home while the relative was away found the building had been burglarized as a window was broken and the back door was damaged and left open.
Someone on Montana 206 reported that six political signs had been stolen from a property. Two weeks earlier, two other signs had been stolen. The property owner warned an investigating deputy that he might get his gun out if the thefts continued. A deputy promised extra patrol.
Someone complained that three donkeys were creating a potential road hazard on West Springcreek Road. The mules were reunited with their human family.
A Whitefish Police officer was sent to investigate a report of a goat on the loose on East Second Street.
An officer found that a man who had been overheard yelling obscenities on U.S. 93 was actually just having a creative discussion with his wife over the telephone.
Columbia Falls Police took a report from a person who reported that a black bear was hanging out near a park and community garden.
Kalispell Police sent an officer to Fourth Avenue West after someone reported that a 20-year-old man had tried to steal a bike and assault a teacher. The officer investigated.
Someone reported two “shady looking characters,” who were tattooed men, were allegedly shoplifting from a business on First Avenue East North.
A man called crying after he got released from jail after an extended stay and returned home to Seventh Avenue East to find that the people who had been staying in his home had allegedly stolen all of his belongings. An officer told him to make a list of the missing items for an official report.
Two men allegedly dined and dashed without paying at an establishment on North Main Street. The owners wanted to give the men a chance to come back and pay before pressing charges.
One man had a possibly broken nose after a two-vehicle collision on Whitefish Stage Road.
A person called from Empire Loop, worried about a black bear cub wandering the neighborhood. The caller was worried because the mother bear was not around.
