Billi is excellent choice for HD 5

| October 16, 2016 11:00 AM

When you encounter Chet Billi during his door-to-door campaign in Whitefish, test him out. He would love to debate political issues with you. We need him in the Legislature because of his energy, keen mind and good ideas. Besides he would lower the average age in Legislature and raise the average IQ!

Chet became interested in politics at a very young age. He attended Whitefish Public Schools from preschool through high school. When he was in the fifth grade, the school held a mock election for McCain/Palin and Obama/Biden among the students. He supported McCain/Palin and campaigned for them. They won the middle school election.

When he was in the 10th grade he was involved in Ryan Zinke’s campaign by making phone calls and waving signs on the roadside. He enjoyed his American-history class because he is an advocate for the conservative principles on which our constitutional republic is based.

During the 11th grade, Chet sponsored a ballot initiative to allow school employees with valid carry permits the ability to carry concealed on campus. Thanks to his efforts the bill known as the “Montana School Safety Act” is in Gary Marbut’s (director of Montana Shooting Sports Association) top-5 legislative priorities this next session. I believe that Chet is looking for solutions which are what we need in the Legislature. —Verdell Jackson, Kalispell, former Republican state senator
