LETTER: Founders say goodbye to Tailwaggers

| October 16, 2016 11:00 AM

After reading the nice article in the Pilot and also the Flathead Journal about Chase and Abbey Pierce taking over the Tailwaggers store, we, as the originating founders, owners and operators of this wonderful store, wish to send thanks to all our shoppers for a bountiful and wonderful 10 years.

Serving our neighbors, not just in Whitefish, but throughout the Flathead and beyond, many of our regular shoppers came from Bigfork and Kalispell, Lakeside and Somers, even Polson. We shipped to Havre regularly and many points beyond.

Opening in August of 2006, we hoped only to bring our knowledge of healthy quality foods, toys, treats and gear to whoever would care to hear it. Turns out our vision was embraced throughout our community and the “thank yous,” hugs and friendships we received through Tailwaggers will be with us always.

The power of proper nutrition served to assist many loved pets’ healthful recoveries and journeys from many various ailments. As we know from our own selves, a change of diet can do wonders. Knowing you could also buy top quality toys, treats and gear with confidence was just the cherry on top.

We loved our journey these 10 years. Meeting many, many wonderful pets and their wonderful loving owners has been a tremendous joy for us. We wish now all the best success for Chase and Abbey as they, through Tailwaggers, have excitedly chosen to carry our legacy and philosophy into the future. Stop in and say “Hello.” Vive la Tailwaggers! —Jim and Janey Connell, Whitefish
