VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Libby, Polson earn sweeps
TROY — Libby fought off Troy in the first game then rolled in the next two, sweeping the Trojans 25-21, 25-11, 25-14 in a District 7B conference match Tuesday night.
The Loggers (11-3, 6-2 District 7B) used 13 kills from Mehki Sykes to finish with a commanding 35-10 edge in kills. Sykes added two blocks in the win.
Alli Collins fueled the Libby offensive with 31 assists and Emma Gruber chipped in 11 digs.
Kaitlyn Downey notched 20 digs in a losing effort for Troy (6-10, 0-7).

POLSON — Haley Fyant finished with six kills, 10 digs and six aces to lead Polson past Missoula Loyola-Sacred Heart 25-8, 25-14, 25-7 on senior night at Polson High School.
The Pirates (3-8) recognized seniors Fyant, Hannah Fryberger, Lauren Lefthand, Chadelle Smith and Nore Messing before the match, then routed the Breakers on the court.
“It was beautiful,” Polson coach Patricia Luetzen said. “It was a really good offensive night. We looked really good.”
Polson was led by Lefthand’s seven kills, Kyler Lundeen’s 15 digs and Kaelyn Smith’s 11 assists. The Pirates also had 19 aces in the match.

RONAN — Lee Camel put down 22 digs to lead the Maidens to a come-from-behind 23-25, 24-26, 25-19, 25-19, 15-11 District 6B conference win over Deer Lodge.
Camel added two blocks and 30 digs in the victory. Ronan had 60 kills in the match to only 31 for Deer Lodge, and was credited with 127 digs.
Kerstin Cooper led Deer Lodger with nine kills.
