Members of the Blackfeet Tribe will be stopping at Flathead Valley Community College as part of a seven-city film tour, offering free screenings of a new documentary about the tribe’s work to prevent oil and gas exploration in Badger-Two Medicine area.

“Our Last Refuge,” a 24-minute documentary film, tells the story of the Badger-Two Medicine and the decades-long struggle to protect it from oil and gas exploration. The new film features voices from Blackfeet elders, local conservationists and the law firm pushing for oil exploration.

Directed by Bozeman-based filmmaker Daniel Glick of Kings Road Media, the film will be screened in room 139 of the college’s Arts and Technology Building at 6:30 p.m., Oct. 20.

The screening is sponsored by the Global Friends student group, and a presentation by Blackfeet tribal member and activist Kendall Edmo will follow.
